I am Dead Serious

That's it.
That is fucking
it.
I've had it with you,
you stupid fucking
Corporation.
First,
You SUCK to work for
Then,
You lay me off –
I was so fucking happy
to walk away from that
bull shit.
Then you call me back –
being an eternal optimist
I was happy about that,
too, until it ended after
six weeks, still
it paid for Christmas
that year.
A month and a half later
You called me back again,
only to let me go again
due to budget problems.
You could have handled
that one better, but …
whatever, at that point
I was already a little
beaten and submissive.

SO,
when You called me back
this last time
for a year contract
on a new, interesting product
I didn't have any spine
I accepted less than what
I'm worth
and gave my full effort,
mostly, I mean,
Your pace is that
of a half-dead turtle, it is
Your momentum, Your
too-big-to-fail-ness
that keeps you in business.
When you can buy your
competition, there is none.
You no longer have to be
efficient, or even above average.
The refrigerator you gave me
for a field test DIED.  That's right.
First, the icemaker fan made funky drumming
noises, then the machine compartment
joined in and after a couple weeks the
ice and water stopped working
four years short of it's expected life.
This morning the display on the door
went black.
My first day off the job.
The morning after my
last day at that mother-
fucking piece of shit
company.  I am dead
serious.  I woke up,
went downstairs
and the screen was
completely black, not
one LED. I stood in front of the
god-damned thing and thought:
DO NOT
try to pick it up and throw its
stupid ass out of a window.
You will only hurt
yourself.
